"Untitled"

This painting has been a "Comedy of errors". First I used some old masking fluid over the teapot etc, because I wanted to paint the background with a large hake brush. Well.....I couldn't get the masking stuff off without a lot of scrubbing and damaged the paper in some areas. The blueberry pie started out as "cucumber sandwiches"........tea and sandwiches, a typical English country cottage menu favourite. I quickly took that off the menu and tried "Scones (biscuits to you I think) with homemade raspberry jam and Devonshire cream." Sounds delicious but my painting would hardly encourage customers to place an order.
Finally..... I tried good old Blueberry pie with a little more success, and fortunately it covered up all the other layers. Have to say I am really happy with one area of the painting........ the background. Not too happy with the cup and saucer.
140 cold press Arches......Maimeriblu paInts.
Thanks for another interesting challenge.

"Morning Coffee"

Enclosed is my project picture for this quarter. I have been taking a life drawing class. I incorporated my hand study into this painting. We live in the Northern Climate, morning coffee is a waker-upper and also a warmer-upper. I have done coffee and an English muffin with strawberry jam on Arches (11 x 14) 140 lb paper and Winsor Newton paints. This was more challenging, as I didn't know what kind of food to portray. Thanks again. It's a fun web site.

"Sweet Things"

I wasn't going to send this but decided its part of the learning curve. My glass plate on the right doesn't read as glass to well and leaning some. It was fun and part of learning. Thank you for this wonderful site and all you time that you spend on this site.
My paints are w+n and I used 140 lb. cold press Arches watercolor paper.

"Wine a Bit"

A few years ago, the Walla Walla Valley of S E Washington State was known for its Sweet Onions, fruit, peas and wheat. We now have over 100 Wineries and some are doing quite well. We also have an annual Hot Air Balloon Stampede that is very popular. My project is on 140 lb. I used Windsor and Newton WC paint and some acrylic too, WC Greeting card stock and is approx. 5 X 7 inches. Thanks!

"Persimmons and Tea"

This is my take on a piece by an artist I admire. Done on a very old 7x10 d'Arches block labeled "rough". W&N paints - mainly alizarin crimson, gamboge yellow, ultramarine and Payne's gray. Thanks ~ this was fun and got me thinking about digging out my inspiration folder and getting to work.
